Unipampa present at G-CUB Seminar in Manchester, UK

Unipampa was represented by its rector, Professor Ulrika Arns,  in two international events, both in the United Kingdom. From October 27 to 29, the rector was in Manchester, where a group of rectors and international relations representatives from Brazilian federal universities joined to the VII International Seminar and VII General Assembly HIGHER EDUCATION, INNOVATION AND INTERNATIONALIZATION, both promoted by G-CUB, Coimbra group of Brazilian Universities. During the meetings, it was possible to discuss the future of internationalization, the guidelines suggested by UK institutions and also to share experiences that are taking place in Brazil.

Experiences on science, technology and health care were presented by institutions from Mexico, Italy and the UK, among others. Professor Arns considered as very relevant Unipampa's presence in the events. “Being in contact with foreigner institutions is always a possibility to learn from their knowledge, a chance to access our own ability to adjust to the challenges of our modern society by comparing to them.”

On October 30, in London, the first Brazil – UK Universities meeting took place. In that occasion, Professor Arns engaged in conversations with UK representatives that have the same interest in the development of bilateral actions with our institutions. The rector highlighted the speech of Sir Steve Smith, from Exeter University. According to him, the three main aspects to the success of UK higher education are: quality of offer, founding and cultural interaction. He also said that the UK is highly interested in Latin America and in continuing to receive Brazilian students, once they ate practical and creative in problem solving.

This was the first time that the G-CUB meeting took place abroad. Unipampa has been present in the previous encounters. In 2016, the event will happen in Parma, Italy.
